  Welcome, today we are going to be rebasing my entire Ogre army. The current basing is inconsistent across units. This is completely my own fault. The original basing I did in the dark days before I put any effort into basing whatsoever. Some of the units still had this original scheme, others had various different schemes but I couldn't settle on a single one. I settled in and did some research into an effective but low effort basing for them. Before I could get into the new scheme I had to remove the previous basing. Fortunately PVA can be reactivated by soaking it in water. Acrylic paints are unaffected by water which is great as I marinated my Ogres in a baking tray for roughly 60 minutes.   Once properly soaked you can see the PVA turn white again. This means it is ready to be removed.   Removal was nice and easy. First step is to simply scrape away the old static grass and tufts and what-have-yous.  I've been getting an itch. A tiny tiny itch. We've been looking at doing some historical WW2 gaming in 15mm with more emphasis on vehicles and vehicle manovers. Due to the current logisical whoopies that is the British postal system the vehicle models have been delayed. What did arrive was a whole load of MDF buildings in 1/100 or 15mm scale.  These came from TTCombat and I managed to get 15 of them for around the same price as a slightly excitable takeaway. I decided that I was going to go for the ruined buildings because I think it'll look more interesting and will be fun to play over.  The buildings are nice, but straight out of the box they lack a certain something something. Today I get to delve into the heady subject of model storage.  Isn't this exciting boys and girls, I hope you are all sitting comfortably as I'm going to begin. There comes a point in any hobbyists journey where they start to think: Hmmmmm, where am I going to store these models, all the cupboards in the kitchen are full and I'm not sure how the cold in the fridge will affect the glue? or: Right, the shoebox and tissue paper just isn't cutting it for my 6000 points of Eldar, how am I going to keep them all safe? The second one is not a lie, I've seen this.  Their excuse was that mini storage was too expensive! Inquisitor Greyfax is one of those miniatures designed to convey the technological contradictions and iconic weirdness of the 40K setting. Unfortunately for my tastes, it actually goes too far. A crossbow attached to an assault rifle has a comedy charm, I grant you, but a candle on one's hat is asking for trouble, particularly when the hat is taller than the candle. If the hat doesn't catch fire first, there'll be wax running off the brim and giving poor Greyfax the look of a rock that's had seabirds nesting on it for a while. Howdo all! A new year brings you all a new contributor to the Bunker.  I'm Andrew, also Andy, and other less appropriate names on occasion.  I'm not entirely new to this malarky, having been blogging for a decade now over at Iron Legion , but as life changes I find I have so little time to maintain a blog myself and so I'm in the process of shutting it down.  You can however see a lot of my previous hobby over there, and soon there'll be a post of my own personal highlights in case you're interested. Charlie and the Bunker crew were generous enough to give me a home here as an occasional poster, so you may or may not be seeing more of my progress.
