Thatos Terrain Done Unreasonably Quickly

Who's got John Williams on in the background? Just me? Fast terrain projects seem to be becoming a bit of a specialty of ours. About a year ago, Charlie, Drew and I went in for a pair of boxes of boarding action terrain and painted it as a team . It was a success and renewed my own enthusiasm for terrain projects. I previously completed a very rustic non-imperial human settlement we lovingly dubbed Shit Town , but was annoyed at how interactive the terrain set wasn’t: while it was effective at blocking lines of sight, looking thematic and framing a board of miniatures well, the buildings were essentially impassable obstacles that models could not easily interact with, due to being closed off with awkward domed roofs. A normal response might have been to not sweat it, to enjoy the terrain I had, and to consider a future project in vein other than outer-rim settlement. Nonsense. The Necromunda team are putting out some absolutely glorious terrain, and one set we had all admired at di...

Orlocks! Orlocks with wings!

All right, calm down Sméagol. They don't have wings, they have a crudely designed, home workshop assembled, jump pack. That's better, right? As anyone familiar with this blog will know, I am a teeny bit obsessed with Necromunda . In particular the mad biker shotgun enthusiasts: The Orlocks. My own gang (the Blood & Chrome ) have been already expanded to the size of an Imperial Guard Platoon and I figured I was done! I was out! Noooooope. They drag me back in, and all because GDubs just had to go and release an upgrade box for them. An awesome upgrade box. An upgrade box with doggos. I started with the bog standard Arms Master as I figured I needed to flex my Orlock painting muscles after this long away. I decided he needed kind of a Latinx vibe so went to my old favourite skin painting rainbow (ranging from Burnt Umber, through Beige Brown and into the Citadel "skin tones"). I haven't named any of these chaps and chapesses yet as I'm not currently playing...

Badged in Blood - Corpse Grinder Chaos Cultists

It's once more time to get down and dirty with the poor deluded souls who think the Gods of Chaos will provide for them. Yep! Cultist O'Clock again folks! What? No, I don't have a problem, YOU have a problem! Ahem. On with the show...

Do You Wanna Be In Our Gang? - Necromunda Orlocks

Greetings fellow bunker dwellers! It has been a long time since we last delved into the hellscape of the Underhive. Perhaps too long... because in our absence the Blood & Chrome have been expanding:

6 Hour Ambot!

Is your gang tired of a constant stream of slaying, pillaging and loot carrying? Do you need a giant robot with an en-trained Xenos insect brain to do your heavy lifting and face smashing but you’re too short of time in your hectic gang warfare life? Then you need, THE 6 HOUR AMBOT! Beautifully Painted. Might have taken a while to do though... When Games Workshop first showed the Ambot model off, I knew that I needed one in my life. I also knew that I didn’t want to use their relatively ‘factory fresh’ paint scheme because A) I’m lazy and B) I wanted mine to look battered and heavily used – like the piece of tunneling equipment it is. I wanted to get it painted quickly – preferably between the time I dropped my Son off at school and the time that my wife picked him up. The challenge was on – paint an Ambot in 6 hours. I did cheat a bit, the model was already assembled and primed black when I started and I did the basing after bedtime. In terms of a...

Slaughter in Sejanus - Necromunda Campaign Update!

Once upon a time, in a hive called Sejanus in the Cetus Sub, there was a gang called The Carrion Children. They were big, they were scary and they wore weird doll faces so everyone stayed the hell away. Then the Inquisition came in and smashed them because they were ever so slightly a nascent chaos cult too... And thus the events of the Beard Bunker Inquisitor campaign set the scene for the Beard Bunker Necromunda campaign: With the Carrion Children gone for good, there was something of a power vacuum in the depths of the Sejanus underhive and a bunch of gangs went scouting for territory and treasure. They mostly found each other.  Yep! It was the first weekend campaign event of our Necromunda campaign and dear gods did the blood flow! We are playing a dominion campaign and so this was the first phase of territory acquisition. Because we're all newbies at this modern Necromunda lark we kept things simple. A series of Zone Mortalis Tunnel Fights as our gangs explored old Carri...
